These older Hereford saddles have been popular among our clients. They are quality saddles, built to last, and are very affordable. We fondly refer to these saddles as ‘Trusty Rusty’ saddles, as, while not the prettiest saddles out there, they are quality and are sure to last. This Hereford is a pleasure/trail type saddle, with beautiful tooling work. On a wood tree, with a an old style Reining horn, that is quite forward set, and measuring a bit shorter at 2.75″. Appears to be QH bars that measure 7″, with flare, fitting fairly wide and low, with just a bit of rock to the bar. Offers a true 15″ seat with a moderate cantle at 3″, with a slightly raised twist and very deep seat pocket. This one just ‘fits’ right. Shorter skirt at 25″. Fenders offer great adjustability, going insanely long. Lovely tooling on this one, with classic Sheridan floral tooling, but not too much to make this one an easy one to wipe down. Comes fully fitted plus comes with a matching breast collar. This one is an older one, from 1986 if we are reading the serial number correctly, but is in good condition given its age. It has dried from storage, so would benefit from oiling. Shows a few scuffs and marks typical of time and age. However, this one is sound, affordable, and has a great look!
