As this kids say now’a days…this is extra! Congress Leather is mainly recognized for their bridle and leather goods, think show halters, but boy did they make some darn nice saddles! Yes, this one is older, but no expense -literally- was spared. 15″ seat with a deeper pocket, with grippy suede, with the higher 4″ cantle, this is one to keep you secure. Free swing fenders that have a nice, newer stirrup on them, and a slightly forward set horn make this barrel saddle not only comfortable, but the right saddle for the job. On what appears to be QH bars that measure 6.5″, with a wider flare and just a bit of rock to the bars. Double, in skirt rigged, lots of adjustment to the fenders, and is on a wood tree. This is a durable saddle, but not super lightweight. Shorter skirt at 25.5″, 9.5″ thigh space, 2.75″ horn. Topped off with new turquoise latigos and rear off rigging that has a bit of added turquoise bling. Ok, let’s talk about why this saddle is so darn extra! It has real, REAL turquoise inlays on the silver. Which, is likely silver overlay or silver plate, knowing the quality coming from Congress. Darn near every single piece of silver has turquoise inlay and gold lining. Paired with the hand tooling, this one has such an incredible look. Really well cared for, just a bit of rust to the rigging and use/age appropriate wear. Nothing major to note. This saddle is an incredible saddle, one that will hold up!
