This saddle is just darling! If you are a fan of Billy Cook Classic saddles, but want one that is more budget friendly–here ya go! From Frank Vega Saddlery, this is a darn nice saddle, and was built before Vega Saddles became production saddles. 13.5″ seat, however, has a nice deep seat and a higher cantle, fits true to 13″. While still offering a slightly larger thigh space at 9.75″. On what appears to be QH bars, measuring 6.65″ with plenty of flare, fitting a bit flatter through the bars. Usually, these single skirt barrel saddles don’t offer double rigging…this one does! Very short skirt at 24″, not terribly heavy, and will fit horse and rider well. 3.5″ cantle, 3″ horn, and has had a matching hoof pick pouch added to the skirt. While an older saddle, this one has been very well cared for. Roughed out leather over the fenders and jockeys, all butter soft and plenty grippy. Fully basketweave stamped with just a bit of hand tooling in a classic oak leaf pattern over the swells. Has a really tasteful inlayed hair-on-hide detail along the rear skirts, making this saddle unique but not ‘too much’. Comes fully fitted, plus has a nice pair of Walls stirrups. The fenders have had the slack cut, but does not impact the length at all, easily going long enough for a 6′ rider, but short enough for teen riders. This saddle is in brilliantly cared for condition, showing no major signs of use and clearly well cared for. This is such a nice little saddle, and is frankly a steal at this price.
