Here is a nice, unique bit from Reinsman. New with tags/new old stock bit. This is Reinsman’s #374 Gentle Guide training bit that measures 5″, has a copper mouth to promote salivation, and a unique cheek to offer many options for horse and rider. New with tags, tag shows a bit of wear from storage. Per Reinsman:
4 1/2” Cheeks • 5” Mouth • 3/8” Smooth Copper Snaffle
A great starter bit or transition bit. The unique cheeks offer similar advantages to a full cheek snaffle. Yet, this bit is even more gentle! The wider cheek disperse pressure across the horse’s face to encourage turns and flexion instead of at a single concentrated point like the full cheek. The slight gag action makes this bit slower than a traditional full cheek because it takes the mouthpiece longer to engage. The smooth snaffle is a nice average ⅜” diameter and the copper causes the horse to salivate making for a softer more supple mouth.
