This is a great bit from a great maker. Gary Schmidt is known more for his spurs and buckles, so its not too often you see bits from him. Slightly larger mouth at 5 1/8″, thinner diameter, and is all sweet iron. Loomis style shank that measures 8″, making this a show legal bit. Brilliantly balanced, in hardly used condition, hardly showing any rust at all. Marked Gary Schmidt 318.
