Here is a stunning bit from and old time brand, Pioneer. Marked Pioneer on the inside of the shank, this is a great example of a quality handmade bits that has a great feel and balance to it. 5″, all sweet iron, very much in a Jr Cutter style with port and copper roller. Roller is set even with the bars, so this bit has very little correction. Port measures 1 3/8″. Mullen mouth, fixed cheek. with a rounded correction port that measures 2″. Rotates at cheeks and port. Very short, swept shank that measures 7″. Has three square set conchos on the side of each shank. Tests sterling, has some natural patina. Brilliant balance and feel, well cared for, no condition issues to note, some rust on the bit as typical of sweet iron. Show legal bit, one that is showy and quality!
